Dall'Italia partiamo solo Io e Monica, incontreremo amici
dalla Svizzera, Germania e Stati Uniti a Yangon (Myanmar). Faremo un
tour di 15 giorni con la nostra mongolfiera ed altre sei.
From Italy Me and Monica, we will meet friends from
Switzerland, Germany and United States in Yangon (Myanmar). We will
tour for 15 days with our balloon and other 6.

Non c'è altro modo per dire GRAZIE. Grazie Regina e Peter per
averci voluto con voi. Grazie a tutto l'equipaggio della Golden Express. Tours, siete stati semplicemente grandi . Puntuali ad ogni recupero e
pronti ad aiutarci ad ogni piccola difficoltà.

Abbiamo caricato la mongolfiera sul carrello. Bombole
vuote e tutto pronto per il trasporto aereo. Partiamo alle 11:00 per
Hasle-Rugsau (Svizzera), ad attenderci Peter Blaser che si occuperà
della spedizione e di tutta l'organizzazione. Dopo 8 ore!!!! si otto ore
arriviamo alla meta. Abbiamo trovato neve e ghiaccio ed abbiamo anche
sbagliato Hasle (meno male che in Svizzera ve ne sono solo due! fidati
del Tom Tom).
Arriviamo all'ora di cena e ci imbuchiamo alla festa di
Natale della Blaser dove incontriamo tanti amici.
Il giorno dopo 4 ore di lavoro per preparare tutti i
palloni ed il materiale per la spedizione. Con noi Opi e suo figlio
David (paracadutista), Jris e Kurt Frieden, Peter e Nik.
Tutto è pronto WOW! non vediamo l'ora.
The balloon is on the trailer. Cylinders purged,
everything ready. We leave at 11:00am for Hasle-Rugsau (Switzerland),
waiting for us Peter Blaser who is organizing our expedition. After 8
hours we finally arrive. We found snow and ice over the Alps and we went
to the wrong Hasle (thank god there are only two Hasle's in Switzerland,
tom tom!!!!)
We arrive at dinner time and Peter invites us to dinner
at his companies Christmas party where we find lots of friends.
The day after 4 hours work with Peter, Opi, David, Nik,
Kurt and Jris and the balloons are packed and ready for shipping.

Partenza ore 8:00 accompagnati da Guido e Domenico, futuri piloti, alla
volta di Milano Malpensa. Il nostro volo è alle 12:55, Singapore
Airlines.
Arriviamo in orario e cominciamo il check-in. SIC!
I computer del banco accettazioni sono in tilt e ci
vogliono circa tre ore per il check-in. Per fortuna ritardano la
partenza dell'aereo di un'ora.
La Singapore Airlines è all'altezza della loro fama,
poltrone comode e servizio eccellente.
We leave home at 8:00am Guido e Domenico, future pilots, are taking us
to Milan Malpensa. Our flight is at 12:55, Singapore
Airlines.
We arrive in time and start check-in. SIC!
The computers are in tilt and it takes more than three
hours to check-in we get on the plane in time.
La Singapore Airlines is one of the best..

Alle 14:20 il volo della Silk Air per Yangon
Aeroporto di Singapore molto bello, free internet access,
orchidee ovunque, acquari e una serra con migliaia di farfalle. Il tempo
passa senza disagio.
Arrivo a Yangon alle ore 15:45
Ad aspettarci Poncio della Golden Express, il tour
operator che ci accompagnerà per tutto il tour.

via Bangkok.
e via per l'albergo Summit Parkview.
Non c'è tempo per le chiacchiere, per cui posiamo le
valigie in camera, un doccia e via a cena. Cinese.

Singapore airport is very beautiful with orchids all over
and fish pools and butterflies ... and free internet access !

As we arrive Poncio of Golden Express is there waiting
for us,

We meet Carol and Jack from Alaska via Bangkok.
And off to the Summit Parkview hotel.
No time to chat. luggage in the room a shower and off to
dinner. Chinese food.

prendiamo il treno.

Shwe nel primo pomeriggio e prendiamo camera al Paradise Hotel e
senza pensarci su si vola!!!!

Siamo stanchi morti ma
l'emozione del primo volo prevale, c'è vento ma si va lo stesso. Un
volo corto per rompere il ghiaccio e verificare l'attrezzatura.
Tutto OK.
L'entusiasmo della
gente locale ci travolge e sarà il tema di tutto il nostro viaggio.
Monica non sta molto
bene ed ha un po' di febbre.

Shwe in the afternoon and we take room at the Paradise Hotel and
without any further thoughts we go flying!!!!

We are tired but the
emotion of our flight prevails. there is a bit of wind but we fly. A
short flight to break the ice and test all our equipment. All OK.
The enthusiasm of the
local people overwhelms us, positively, and will be the theme of
this trip.

La gita in barca è
affascinante e ci dà uno spaccato della vita sul lago Inle.
Splendide case in teak ed in foglie di bambù, colori e pagode qua e
là colorate d'oro.

boat 6 hours, and bus other 2 hours.
A wonderful boat tour,
and a good way to see how life is on the lake. Beautiful houses in teak
and palm leaves, colours and pagoda's here and there coloured with
gold.

felice.

Decollo in un
atmosfera strana con luce soffusa
e tanto per mantenere
la tradizione ... atterraggio nel Golf Course di Loikaw. E

Durante il recupero
incontriamo Don Luigi Zaw Lwin, prete cattolico che ha studiato in
Italia a Milano e Monza. Cercheremo di mantenere i contatti con lui
e la sua parrocchia anche se le comunicazioni da e per il Myanmar
sono estremamente difficili.
In Myanmar la maggior
parte della popolazione è buddista ma vi è anche un folto gruppo di
cattolici soprattutto qui a Loikaw.
Dopo la valle del
Mustang (Nepal), che ci ha segnati nel profondo del nostro cuore, il
Myanmar arricchisce la nostra spiritualità.

We take off in strange
light.
And just because it is
tradition .... we land in the Gold Course. That makes three after Dubai
and Anchorage
During the retrieve we
encounter Father Luigi Zaw Lwin, Catholic priest that studied in
Italy. we will try to keep in touch also if communications to and
from Myanmar are very difficult.
In Myanmar the
majority of the population is Buddhist with a small Catholic
community specially here in Loikaw.
After the valley of
Mustang (Nepal), that has signed our hearts, Myanmar has enriched
our spirituality.

Magical Bagan. There
are no other words to describe Bagan Flying over the pagoda's is
just wonderful. One of the most relaxed and relaxing places in
Myanmar. I could live here.

Another adventure has
come to an end. We will never forget Myanmar and it's people. We are
greatful to Regina and Peter to have wanted us with them on this
trip and to have had the opportunity to visit this country from
aloft. If, in the future, we will have the chance to come back, we
will indeed. There is still a lot see and to learn.
